Blue-Collar Beauty: Confessions of a Plastic Surgery Coach by Michelle Emmick is an excellent, well-written and highly insightful look into the world of plastic surgery. It is educational, inspiring and highly motivational.
There are some authors I just fall in love with straight away, and Michelle Emmick falls into that category. From the prologue I was laughing, and from the easy-to-read natural flow of the writing I knew I was in for an easy-to-read, enjoyable book. Who would have guessed that ‘Plastic Surgery’ has its own genre category on Amazon? Not me, nor would I have thought that I would have enjoyed a book on this subject so much! The amount of books out there about this clearly shows the huge interest that the world has on this very controversial topic. And, I would definitely say that Blue-Collar Beauty is the very top book that must be read in the list of books in this genre/category. What I loved about this book is that it is more than an educational walk through the aesthetic industry (and there are lots of help and advice sections). It is also autobiographical and highly inspiring.
Michelle Emmick writes not only from her twenty years of experience in the field of aesthetics, but from her heart. Her caring nature flows on every page. I really enjoyed the personal bits, like her father being her chauffeur and inspiration; these snippets just added such depth to the book. I think whatever you are looking for you will get in this book, I personally was inspired and I don’t plan on having any surgeries done. The heart of this book is Michelle herself, and she freely pours her years of experience, ideals and unique impassioned personality onto the pages to empower others to venture forward with her work ethic and dedication.
Blue-Collar Beauty: Confessions of a Plastic Surgery Coach by Michelle Emmick is a must read for so many people, especially if you are thinking of having cosmetic surgery or wanting to work in the industry, but, also just if you want to know what makes a good employer, or simply if you love memoirs/autobiographies.
